As a TV writer, the idea that we can be identified entirely by the bacteria we leave behind everywhere we go — like fingerprints that come out of our butts — is very fascinating. This first episode is very introductory, focusing mostly on how much unique bacteria is swapped when two people shake hands. Next week, though, promises the investigatory possibilities of this science… Can the bacteria that’s ever-present on our skin — bacteria we can never get rid of — help solve a crime?
